What if there was a new yet familiar way of seeing the world that opens up more meaningful, lighter, and balanced ways to live

Our global industrial society held the promise of prosperity.

Of economic growth leading to health and happiness. Of thriving people on a thriving planet.

But we ended up exhausting ourselves, each other and the planet.

Now we’re left with disillusion, emptiness, and anxiety. With destruction, inequity and violence.

We invite you to imagine more regenerative paths and together explore how to create a world in which we are truly alive.

Uncivilize was born out of our own pain, our longing to find a way forward, and our stubborn belief that change is possible.
We offer a space for individuals, teams and organizations who recognize the challenges we face and are ready to challenge the status quo.
The Uncivilize method is designed to gain clarity on the situation we find ourselves in, imagine true ways for personal and systemic change and explore how to make them real in daily life and work.
This, so that we can see and create paths outside of the dominant system, and truly build a life as thriving people on a thriving planet.

Uncivilize Method

We created a simple method, articulating four modes of living. One being the global industrial mode that rules modern life. Yet beneath its weight remain three modes, brimming with potential to regenerate the relationship we have with ourselves, our communities, and all of nature.

Balancing these modes means to loosen the grip of the extractive, and open up possibility for more life-giving ways of being, living and working.

Global mode

What can be created and exchanged through the worldwide economy.

Local mode

What can be produced and exchanged within the wider community of the village, or region.

Domestic mode

What can be created and shared within the circle of trust; family, kin, and househol

Wild mode

What may be grown, gathered, fashioned, from the direct exchange with nature.

None is wrong. Each offers something vital.
The question is how to mix them so life, and the living world, can thrive.
